Vehicle Storage

Marlborough Sounds Storage Ltd (MSSL) is a Picton based boat and vehicle storage facility providing a variety of options for both the long term managed client, or the casual / short term (overnight) boat and vehicle storage customer.

All boats and vehicles are stored under cover.
We provide a valet (pick up and delivery) service to all of the Water Taxis, Ferry’s, Lodges and Charter companies within the Picton / Waikawa area for vehicle storage.

IMPORTANT

a) A copy of our "Terms of Trade" is listed on this web site, and a hard copy is available upon request at the Water Taxi and Ferry offices.

b) Completion of one of our white envelopes constitutes acceptance of our terms.

c) Rental Cars: Under the terms of a rental car agreement, you the hirer will be in breach of your agreement if you allow a “non named” driver to drive that vehicle. Please check with your rental car company prior to leaving the vehicle for collection / delivery.

d) MSSL will not uplift or deliver any vehicle or trailer that does not display a current registration and warrant of fitness.

Storage at Our Depot:

Water Taxi Travelers:

Charges: $35.00 for the first one or two nights (min charge)

$10.00 per night there after.

Step 1. Upon arrival at your chosen Water Taxi you will need to first unload your vehicle and proceed to park it in the metered council parking area locate 100mtr South of the Water Taxi standing area, this constitutes a payment of $2.00. (MSSL) will locate and collect the vehicle from that area with the information provided below.

Step 2. Please advise one of the reception staff that you wish to store with (MSSL) they will in turn provide you with one of our white envelopes and flyers.

Step 3. Please complete the information requested on the envelope, place your vehicle keys and payment inside the envelope and pass to the receptionist.

Step 4. The Water Taxi reception will contact (MSSL) on your behalf for the vehicle collection,

We will locate your vehicle with the information provided on the envelope.

Step 5. Upon your return to Picton you will find your keys located back at the reception.

a) If you are unsure as to the length of your stay, or failed to pay prior to departure you will need to complete this transaction when collecting your keys from the water taxi company, your vehicle will be located back in the council metered parking area.

For those traveling with a water taxi that doesn’t have an office:

- If you are traveling with an operator that doesn’t hold a booking office / reception you will need to contact (MSSL) prior to your departure / return for assistance,

- An additional $25.00 fee will be charged for collecting / delivery to a Water Taxi without an office / reception.

Interisland Ferry Travelers:

Marlborough Sounds Storage Ltd no longer offers a valet parking service from the Interislander Terminal.

We are continuing to provide inside vehicle storage throughout our varied network as listed on this page.

Blue Bridge Travelers:

Charges: $35.00 for the first one or two nights (min charge)

$10.00 per night there after.

$10.00 extra for travelers returning with the Interislander and vehicles relocated to the Interislander terminal.

Step 1. Upon arrival at the Blue Bridge Terminal please park your car in one of the car parks located outside of the terminal.

Step 2. Please advise the reception staff that you wish to store with Marlborough Sounds Storage Ltd (MSSL) they will in turn provide you with one of our white envelopes and flyers that are located on their front counter.

Step 3. Please complete the information requested on the envelope, place your vehicle keys and payment inside the envelope and pass to the reception staff.

The reception staff will contact (MSSL) on your behalf for the vehicle collection.

We will locate your vehicle with the information provided.

Step 4. Upon your return to Picton you will find your keys located back at the reception, your vehicle will be back in the car park.

Storage at Our Depot:

Casual storage charges (vehicles):

$20.00 for the first night.

$10.00 per night there after.

An additional fee will apply to any drop offs or pick ups that we provide.

Casual storage charges (boats)

$15.00 per night up to 5mtr total length

$25.00 per night 5 to 10mtr total length

$5.00 for an empty trailer (outside parking)

Long term boat and vehicle storage rates are available upon request.

Our main depot is located at 7 Market Street in Picton, this is a 7 – 8 minute stroll from the Water Taxis, or Interislander Ferry.

If you choose to drop off / collect from our depot, please contact us prior to your arrival to schedule a time. As our day works around 15 minute time frames we are often away from our depot for other appointments.
